Pauline Hallink's superb interpretations of jazz standards, bossa nova, and ballads, combined with her love and enthusiasm for the music, have taken her all over her native land (the Netherlands), and abroad to Taiwan and to the USA. She has been active in the world of jazz now for 15 years. Ms. Hallink is also a flight attendant for KLM. Her initials, PH, match the registration code of the Dutch airplanes, which led to the name of her backing group: PH Quartet. Most recently, Pauline was a huge success at the Naarden Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, and has been asked to return. In 2006 her work was on the KLM Jazz Mix charts for six months. She also performed to great acclaim at MAKFEST '96 & '97 in Stip, Macedonia, a festival under the patronage of FIDOF. She is now preparing her first world tour, which will begin in September 2007; rumor has it that she will perform at the famous Carlyle in New York. Pauline Hallink's CD has been now distributed worldwide; it can also be downloaded on iTunes and other electronic distribution engines. She is now at work on her second CD, due out by the end of 2007. Pauline's debut CD contains material by a wide variety of songwriters and is produced by producer/composer Marcel East, who has worked with such greats as Earth Wind & Fire, Huey Lewis, and Fourplay. On this CD, Pauline is accompanied by a fantastic crew of musicians who support her exquisite voice: Steve Ferrone (Average White Band, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) on drums; Morris Pleasure (MD of Earth, Wind & Fire; Natalie Cole, Najee, Ray Charles, Janet Jackson) on piano; James East (Sergio Mendes, Lionel Richie, Laura Pausini, Solar Sister) on bass; Ralph Johnson (an original member of Earth, Wind & Fire) on percussion; Ricardo Silveira (Milton Nascimento, Toots Thielemans) on guitar; and Osama Afifi on upright bass. This crew will also be the backbone of Pauline's upcoming CD, with some more surprises up the sleeve of the producer Marcel East.
